about this poster

“ÎLE DE RÉ” poster, sailboat before the Baleines Lighthouse

A sailboat passes offshore from the Baleines Lighthouse on Île de Ré. The tall gray stone tower rises above the rocky shore and the Atlantic Ocean. This Île de Ré poster sets the still, massive lighthouse face to face with the light, moving sailboat. The ocean blues, the stone grays and the white of the sails make a restrained, maritime palette. The vertical composition emphasizes the height of the lighthouse. The title “ÎLE DE RÉ” accompanies this scene, in the manner of an illustrated travel poster.

The Baleines Lighthouse for a bedroom or entryway

Its blues and grays suit a bedroom, an entryway, a bathroom or a vacation home, on a white or pale blue wall. It pairs well with whitewashed wood, linen, rope, nautical stripes and seaside objects. It can join other lighthouse or Atlantic coast posters. A gift for an islander from Ré, a family who spends summers on the island by bike, a sailor or a lighthouse collector.

Choosing the size and the spot

For a set of several posters, also plan the gaps between the frames. Keep your decor away from water splashes and heat sources.
