about this poster

Two-hemisphere world map poster “OLD WORLD”

Side by side, two hemispheres form a world map drawn in the manner of a cartographer’s engraving. Around them, ornamental scrollwork, clouds and flying cherubs frame the composition. The continents and oceans are rendered in warm sepia tones, and the fine details invite you to step closer and follow the lines of the coasts. This vertical poster recalls the great atlases of the past, where decoration mattered as much as geography. The title “OLD WORLD” accompanies this elegant, meticulous map.

A world map for the office or library

Its sepia tones suit a home office, a library, a living room or an entryway. The vertical format sits well above a secretary desk, between two bookshelves or in a hallway. It readily pairs with dark wood, leather, brass, globes and book bindings. With other maps or travel posters, it makes a traveler’s wall. You can give it to a history and geography enthusiast, a seasoned traveler, a teacher or a map collector.

Choosing the size and the spot

For a set of several posters, also plan the gaps between the frames. Keep your decor away from water splashes and heat sources.
