about this poster

Airplane and windsock on an airfield poster

Seen in three-quarter view, a propeller plane waits on a grass airfield, its landing gear clearly visible. Next to it, a striped windsock fills with wind atop its tall mast, and a small hangar stands behind. This airfield poster captures the moment before departure, when the pilot checks the wind direction. The green of the airstrip, the stripes of the windsock and the open sky make for a clear image. The title “WIND CHECK” names that first glance.

An airfield for a home office or bedroom

Its bold colors and clear sky suit a home office, a bedroom, a playroom or a flying club clubhouse. They go well with wood, leather, brushed metal and white or light gray walls. Hung near a collection of scale models, it completes the decor. Pair it with other airplane or airport posters. It is the perfect gift for a private pilot, a student pilot who just made their first solo flight or a fan of light aviation.

Your questions

What does “WIND CHECK” mean?

A “wind check” is a quick look at the wind’s direction and strength. The title evokes the pilot’s reflex of glancing at the windsock before takeoff, like the one filling with wind next to the plane on the poster.

Who would love this airfield poster as a gift?

It will appeal to a private pilot, a student pilot or a flying club member. It is a lovely gift to celebrate a pilot’s license or a first solo flight.

Choosing the size and the spot

Measure the space available on your wall, allowing for the frame you want to use. Then compare the sizes offered on this page and check the orientation of the artwork.

For a set of several posters, also plan the gaps between the frames. Keep your decor away from water splashes and heat sources.
