Village checkers game under plane trees poster

In the shade of the plane trees on a village square, 2 old-timers face off at checkers on a folding table. A woman in a headscarf and a neighbor standing by follow the game closely. Around them are red bistro chairs, a stone fountain and a boy seated at a table, while the bell tower and its bell rise above the facades with green shutters. This checkers poster, titled “YOUR MOVE”, tells the story of a peaceful afternoon in ochre, leaf green and red.

A village scene for the living room or game room

Its vertical format hangs beautifully in a living room, a game room, an entryway or a country home. Its ochres and greens pair well with stone, weathered wood, painted shutters, terracotta and bistro chairs. Near a game table or a chessboard, it makes a charming nod. It can be combined with other posters of villages in the South. It makes a tender gift for a grandfather who loves games, a board game enthusiast or a family attached to its village.
